Overview of guidance/discipline theories for use with young children birth to age eight; understanding and preventing challenging behavior; intervention strategies; functional assessment; strategies to minimize or eliminate challenging behaviors; partnerships with parents/families; available resources, and the development of an action plan. Prerequisite: Admission to the B.A. in General Studies: Option in Childcare Education (ABC program) or permission of instructor.
